Looking at president Uhuru Kenyatta's itinerary, for the first time, I wish he're the president of my country. I don't know if what he did not to globe-trot comes from personal conviction or systemic restrictions. If anything, apart from being tired of corruption, Tanzanians are tired of a corrupt and extravagant globetrotter in the office of the president. Since he came to power eight years down the line, President Jakaya Kikwete has toured the world over 350 trips which is equivalent to approx. 40 trips annually or three trips a month.It means Kenyatta's annual timeline is equal to Kikwete's three-month schedule. What can Tanzania benefit from such a self-serving-and-loss-making president who is blind and greedy not to see the dent he causes the country? Though Kenyatta is the son of the first president who screwed up Kenya a great deal, his restraint against globetrotting is a good thing for the country and for himself.
