Two weeks left for Donald Trump to vacate the White House, sensing that his rule will soon come to an end, he seems hellbent to break all rulebooks for his pointless amusement and daydreaming. Knowing how the clock is ticking, Trump decided to go down dishonourably by organizing attack on democracy and the US altogether. He organized and encouraged his goons to attack the Capitol Hill, intimidate the representatives of the people and vandalize it needlessly and shamelessly. Had this happened in an African country, the US would strongly urge those behind it be dealt with timely and quickly. Importantly, Trump's timing is very interesting. He unleashed his goons at the moment the Capitol Hill welcomed the representatives and senators to formally conducting proceeding of certification of Biden as the duly elected of the US. One observer called what Trump did coup attempt while another referred to it as pure terrorism against the US. Will Trump get away with the murder? Will he face the full force of the law after the dust settles? The US has never been this low in its entire history. Trump goes down as a desperado that needs to be dealt with for the sake of preserving national honour and integrity. What will Biden do in response to this travesty to democracy and justice? Are the mistake that American voters made surfacing now at the eleventh hour of Trump's maladministration? They were duped so as to vote a monster in the White House. Now, it is brutally devouring them. Will they wake up and retake their country back? It is not easy to tell what America has sank into. All and above all, Trump has ruined the US big time. Will this assault to democracy, citadel of power (as per President-Elect Biden) and its institutions go unpunished really? After President Elect Biden stood up asking Trump to disband his goon, Trump actually had to bite the bullet, swallow his pride and ask his goon to go home. However, he had already proved how incapable he is to rule the US even for only two left for his regime to come to its constitutional end. What a shame for the country that prides itself of being the leader of the free! Although the world will always blame Trump on his mischief and power hunger, what transpired recently reveals US's underbelly so to speak.
For the first in the history of their country, American defecated and desecrated on their symbol of power. I am trying to image what former Zimbabwe strongman Robert Mugabe would have said. I am still anxiously waiting to hear the like of Ugandan one will say about this disgrace and infamy.
